Pharmacists will play an increased role in managing diabetes patients with next month’s roll out of Federal Government changes to the way glucose test strips are supplied through the NDSS.

According to Kos Sclavos, senior health strategist at Sinapse, 58% of type 2 diabetes can be prevented and with many complications in type 2 diabetes arising from long-term mismanagement, pharmacists can play a bigger role in delaying, managing and preventing type 2 diabetes across Australia.

In this video, Mr Sclavos discusses what the latest changes mean and why it is a golden opportunity for pharmacists to help ease the burden of diabetes in Australia.
